Draper Tools.

 

Bert Draper started his business in 1919 selling government surplus and tools around Kingston Upon Thames’ markets. The business name was B. Draper and Son Limited and they used the trademark B.D.S. They sold their own products and were also an Engineers Merchant and Tool Wholesaler selling brands such as Britool, King Dick and Elliott Lucas. Bert Draper died in 1963 and control of the company went to his son Norman. The business was increasing so Norman bought the freehold rights to their premises in Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire in 1963. Norman developed the Draper brand by importing tools from around the world and establishing exclusive rights with companies such as Elora and Knipex.


Norman died in 1994 and his son John, has run the company since 1992. In 2006 Chandler’s Ford reached its full capacity so Draper bought a site at North Baddesley, Hampshire for a new warehouse which was completed in 2009.


Draper Tools stock a wide variety of tools ranging from adhesives, electrical accessories such as batteries and multi meters, anti-static pliers, solar panel installation tools and measuring wheels. .
