Fuel Valves
Dump valves are fitted to turbo charged car engines and are situated between the throttle body and the compressor outlet. A turbo charger produces positive pressure whilst accelerating and this is used to supply the engine with large amounts of compressed air. A turbo continues to pressurise air whilst changing from a boosted state to a closed throttle state. The pressure will eventually exceed the spring pressure in the dump valve and this excess pressure is released. This will result in a significant reduction in turbo ‘lag’ which then means a faster pick up between gear changes.
One-way valves prevent the fuel from feeding back into the fuel tank.
